1. What this site is
Big Ambitions DB is an unofficial fan wiki and database for Big Ambitions 1.0, the business simulation by Hovgaard Games. It gathers the numbers that are scattered across the game — purchase prices and retail prices by neighborhood, furniture prices and customer capacity, building floor area and traffic index, jobs, vehicles, factory recipes — into one searchable place, and offers three calculators that let you do the maths before you open a business.
The site is run by one person. Korean is the source language; English, French and German editions are maintained alongside it. Game terms in all four languages follow the game's own localization files — nothing is translated by the site itself.
2. What you will find
- Nine databases — 135 goods and services, retail prices, purchase prices, 513 furniture items, 885 buildings, 21 jobs, vehicles, vehicle specs and 62 factory recipes. Every table sorts, searches and filters, and the table is in the HTML so it shows without scripts.
- Business overview and 21 business guides — required staff, equipment and core products per business, visit rates by weekday and hour, the order in which to open, and where operations usually get stuck.
- Three calculators — the profit calculator (inside each business guide), the factory planner and the inventory calculator.
- Thirteen guides — getting started, demand and pricing, importing and delivery, running a factory, headquarters and HR, scheduling, restrooms, blueprints, multiplayer, custom icons, music, troubleshooting and FAQ.
3. Data sources and how they are verified
Every number on the site comes from one of three sources, and when they disagree the order of trust is in-game observation > game install files > community data. Gaps are never filled with estimates: a value that cannot be confirmed from data is left blank and marked as such.
- Game install files (1.0, checked against the patch of 2026-09-17) — base prices, box sizes, wholesalers and importers for 791 items; required jobs, products and hourly coefficients for 44 business types; 885 buildings; 62 factory recipes; and the official localization files in four languages (6,054 entries). The install folder is only read — no game files or images are copied to this site. Price formulas (neighborhood price index, wholesale ×1.05, import index 0.5–1.3) were confirmed in the game code.
- In-game observation — eleven purchase prices, the nightclub's required staff, hourly factory output (checked against the jewelry recipe) and the coffee shop's 7-day sales statistics (items per customer) were read from actual play screens. Rows corrected by observation are marked in the tables.
- Community data — the starting point was a set of tables collected on 2026-09-05 from the English fan site biggerambitions.com. They were then checked in full against the two sources above; dozens of prices, box sizes, store listings and building sizes were corrected and items that do not exist in the game were removed. The values in the tables today are recomputed from the game files, not the collected ones.
Consistency is checked automatically. A script and an automated test suite verify that the same value matches everywhere on the site (search index, lists, business guides, calculator data), that names in all four languages match the game's official wording, and that links, images and the sitemap are intact. Two known discrepancies (informational) are listed in the update history.
4. What the calculators do and do not do
All three calculators use only values that can be established from data. Unverified figures such as average wage tables or rent estimates are not built in; instead you enter what you read in the game. The result is therefore not a forecast but what the data says under the conditions you entered.
- Profit calculator — weekly customers = building capacity × the business's visit rate by weekday and hour × promotion index, and revenue from retail prices. On 2026-09-27 measurements in a coffee shop showed that the assumption of one item per customer is far from reality (2.3–4.6 items per customer); the model is being reworked to add per-product purchase rates. Until then revenue may come out lower than in the game.
- Factory planner — machines, raw materials and importers from each recipe's maximum hourly output (confirmed against the in-game help). Skill level was found to have no effect on output and is not an input.
- Inventory calculator — enter the 'last 7 days' sales from the game's statistics to get boxes to order, cost, and pallet and shelf space. Order timing and vehicle trips are not calculated.
