Big Ambitions: building a restroom
What a stall, a toilet and a sink cost, a minimum build, and where to put it
How solid is this — the furniture names, prices and stores are confirmed values from the 1.0 game data (515 furniture items). How a restroom feeds into customer satisfaction and employee requests is drawn from community experience and has not been measured in game.
1. When you need a restroom
Restrooms turn up in Big Ambitions from the very first store tutorial. The gift shop tutorial objective asks for a Bathroom Stall, a Modular Sink and a Storage Shelf together, and community reports say placing an ordinary Toilet does not satisfy it. Past the tutorial, customers use the restroom in your store and restroom-related entries show up in employee requirement lists, so putting one stall in any store that takes customers is the safe default.
A restroom is not a fixture that feeds foot traffic or sales directly — it belongs on the store requirements and satisfaction side. To raise customer numbers, see location, demand and pricing and the business profit calculator.
2. Bathroom Stall versus Toilet
A Bathroom Stall is a commercial fitting — a whole cubicle with a door — while a Toilet is residential furniture. Even the stores differ. Stalls are sold by Essential Appliances and Hamptons Supplies at $2,100; toilets by IKA BOHAG and Hamptons Supplies ($380) or Marquis Living (classic and modern, $420–550). When a store requirement says "Bathroom Stall", place a stall rather than substituting a toilet. Somewhere with no such requirement — a home, a staff break area — a toilet alone is fine.

The lowest price is the cheapest of the listed stores. For the full list and other stores' prices, search "toilet", "bathroom" or "sink" in the furniture & appliances list. The first time you use a store you have to visit during opening hours and talk to the manager before you can order by phone.
4. A minimum build
Matching the tutorial requirement exactly costs about $4,150 — Bathroom Stall $2,100 + Modular Sink $850 + Storage Shelf $1,200 (Factory Supply Depot price). If the shelf is already in your store, the stall and sink alone are $2,950, and swapping the modular sink for a plain Sink ($220) brings it to $2,320. Add a Bathroom Sign ($45) and customers find the restroom more easily; a mirror ($180), a roll holder ($20) and a bathroom shelf ($70) are optional interior-score items.
When placing it, do not put the cubicle inside the stockroom or a staff-only area. Customers walking through your storage to reach it tangles the flow, and the community broadly prefers the restroom door opening onto the shop floor. In buildings with high customer capacity (C1, D2, M1), or in businesses where people stay a long time such as gyms and nightclubs, consider two or more stalls.
5. Common questions
Does a toilet on its own satisfy the restroom requirement?
Not when the tutorial or a store requirement says "Bathroom Stall". A toilet counts as separate furniture, so you have to place a stall.
Where do I buy a Bathroom Stall?
Essential Appliances or Hamptons Supplies, at $2,100. Toilets, sinks and mirrors are also sold by IKA BOHAG, Hamptons Supplies and Marquis Living.
Do I lose customers without a restroom?
Customer numbers come from the building's capacity, foot traffic and your marketing; the restroom affects store requirements and satisfaction. An unmet requirement can stop the store operating properly, so check the requirement list first.
Do I really need a sink as well?
The tutorial asks for a Bathroom Stall and a Modular Sink together. In later stores, check whether a sink appears in the requirement list; if it does not, treat it as decoration.
